Automatic Closure for eFiling Orders

eFiling orders that remain open for more than 30 days will be closed automatically.

Due to backlogs in certain courts, including San Diego, San Bernardino and San Francisco, some eFiling orders remain open for extended periods or never close these orders at all.

Currently, Rapid Legal is charged a fee the business day after an order is submitted, but we must wait for the court to process the transaction before we can charge our own service fee to recoup our costs. This feature eliminates that delay

How It Works

  • Automatic Weekly Closure: Every Monday, eFiling orders older than 30 days will be automatically closed, with order statuses updated accordingly.
  • Court-Returned Documents: If the court processes a transaction after an order has been automatically closed, Rapid Legal will update the status again and notify you via email with the court-returned documents.
  • Invoice Generation: When an order closes, an invoice will be generated with our service fee. If the court later updates the case, customers may receive subsequent invoices for Filing fees and EFM fees.

What This Means for You

Initially, you may receive several emails related to closed orders. Once the backlog clears, you will only receive notifications for eFiling orders older than 30 days. These updates will keep you informed about your cases and financial transactions.
